Elizabeth Ministry

The Elizabeth Ministry of St. Boniface is a chapter of an international movement designed to support women and families during the many experiences of childbirth and motherhood. Rooted in the story of the Visitation, our mission is to cherish children, encourage families and build community. We offer one-to-one support for new mothers and mothers-in-crisis. Some of the areas of ministry include pregnancy, birth, adoption, infertility, miscarriage, and infant/child loss. Support is focused on the mother, but extends beyond to fathers, children and grandparents.

No lengthy training is needed to become an Elizabeth Minister. Ministers are women willing to share their stories and experiences with another woman in need. We offer friendship and support, and serve as representatives of our parish community supporting our faith community's commitment to the sanctity of life. There are many opportunities for involvement including visiting with mothers in need, making meals for new mothers, making handmade gifts for new babies born into the parish and, most importantly, prayer support for our mothers and our ministers.

We welcome women of all ages and experiences to join us in this wonderful mission. Your involvement can be as flexible as needed - we always put families first, including our own. We meet for prayer and fellowship the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 P.M. in the school library. Children are welcome to accompany their mothers. Please come and see what we do, and realize God's purpose for you by sharing the many gifts you have to offer.
