Allgeier Catholic Education Scholarships
Thanks to the generosity of Norman and Agnes Allgeier, St Boniface students received scholarship support for the 2015 and 2016 school years. At the conclusion of the 2016-2017 academic year, St. Boniface Catholic School closed. The Allgeiers’ Will specified that, if St. Boniface School closed, utilization of income from their bequest would be determined by St. Boniface Church. The St Boniface Finance Committee and I believe that the spirit of the Allgeiers remains staunch in its support of St. Boniface Parish students who continue in Catholic elementary education, and so do we as a parish. These recommendations and guidelines were developed so that parents can better plan for future academic years.
Eligible students: All children who are currently registered at St. Boniface Parish, who enroll in any Catholic school (grades K through 8) in the Diocese of Erie for the 2026-2027 academic year, may apply.
Financial eligibility: To qualify for a guaranteed scholarship, eligible students must demonstrate financial need by qualifying for financial aid via the diocesan STAR application process. The amount of the award will be determined by the money available and the number of eligible students. Should the Allgeier Scholarship funds available exceed the financial need of the eligible students who qualify for STAR, eligible applicants who do not qualify for STAR may also receive a scholarship at the discretion of the Scholarship Awards Committee.
Application process:
- By April 15th parents/guardians must submit to the parish office a signed, completed Allgeier Catholic Education Scholarship Application, available at the parish office.
- By the Diocesan deadline date, parents/guardians must complete the STAR application process. Failure to complete the STAR application process will render a student ineligible for the Allgeier Scholarship.
- Awards will be announced following the announcement of Diocesan Financial Aid Awards.
- Total awards (Allgeier and Diocesan) will not exceed the cost of tuition.
Evaluation: Based on the changing value of the Allgeier fund, changes in the number of eligible applicants, or other unforeseen circumstances, St. Boniface Parish reserves the right to alter any or all of the above as needed.
